Create a natural language question answering system with IBM Watson on Bluemix
See my latest blog post on developerWorks. The topic is how to ‘Create a natural language question answering system with IBM Watson on Bluemix’. I co-wrote the article with Swami Chandrasekaran. It is incredibly cool stuff. I hope you enjoy!
Here is a brief intro to wet your appetite:
Cognition is in virtually everything that humans do, such as language understanding, perception, judgment, motor skills, learning, spatial processing and social behavior. Increasingly, we expect the machines that we use to exhibit the same cognitive behavior. IBM Watson represents a first step into cognitive systems, a new era of computing. In addition to using programmatic computing, Watson has three capabilities that make it truly unique:
- Natural language processing
- Hypothesis generation and evaluation
- Dynamic learning
Taking advantage of new software for websites and blog platforms can make it more usable and relatable to the audience or consumer. Having things like a chatbot on a website can make it easier to address any queries and help to communicate more effectively with the user. Natural language processing is what AI technology uses in order to transfer regular language, which is used by the individual, into a computer language that can give the best results for the query. Many companies like Rasa (https://rasa.com/solutions/open-source-nlu-nlp/) can provide this service to people who are looking for a chatbot service for their website or blog.
